Pet Care Articles

Arthritis in Pets

Does your pet have trouble getting up in the morning and seem a bit stiff? Unfortunately, arthritis can be a real pain in the neck… hip, elbow or back.

Hairballs in Cats

Hairballs are created when a cat grooms him or herself and ingests a large quantity of hair. This hair does not pass easily through the gastrointestinal tract and stomach and pancreatic enzymes cannot digest it.

Why You Should Vaccinate Your Dog

Has your dog been vaccinated lately? Ooops! Vaccination is the only way to protect your dog against certain viral diseases that are highly contagious, and can be fatal.

Rat Bait Poisoning

Rat and mouse numbers tend to rise as cooler weather forces them to search for food closer to our homes, especially sheds and garages where we feed our dogs or cats and in the house. Be aware that rat baits might be out on neighbouring properties, too.

Obesity in Birds

As with other pets, obesity is a problem often encountered with birds. Our pet birds are usually confined to a cage, have their wings trimmed to prevent flight, and receive little if any exercise.
