Dr Dave Hare BVSc MFVetHom
Position: Veterinary surgeon
Qualifications: BVSc (Bachelor of Veterinary Science, Liverpool, UK 1994). MFVetHom (Member Of Faculty of Veterinary Homoeopathy).
David is the sole owner of Cape Hawke Veterinary Hospital. He trained in Liverpool, UK and qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 1994.
He worked in mixed practice in Lincoln UK for 11 years before moving to Forster in 2005. After working here for 5 years he purchased Cape Hawke Veterinary Hospital from the previous owner.
He became an Australian citizen in 2011. His interests are in all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery and occasional large animal work. He also has an interest in complementary medicine and holds an MFVetHom in Homoeopathy.
David is a caring compassionate vet who understands the importance of listening to pet owners and displaying empathy. He strives to be up to date with current changes in veterinary medicine, as well as incorporating alternatives such as homoeopathy where appropriate.
David can be heard hosting ‘Dr Dave’s Pet Talk’ – a question and answer show on 101.5 Great Lakes FM on Mondays at 11.15am
His interests outside work include surfing, ballroom dancing, tennis, music and Tae Kwon Do.
Cass Bishop
Position: Veterinary nurse / receptionist
Qualifications: Certificate 4 Veterinary Nurse.
Cass started working at Cape Hawke Veterinary Hospital in September 2013. Cass also runs the Puppy Preschool.
She has 1 dog called Chester, 2 cats (Deliah and Wae) as well as 2 birds, 1 is a budgie named Moon and the other is a cockatiel named Biscuit.
Tina Lonsdale
Position: Veterinary nurse / receptionist
Qualifications: Cert 4 Veterinary Nurse.
Tina has worked at Cape Hawke Veterinary Hospital for 17 years so is a familiar face. Tina also has an advanced diploma in horse management.
She has a dog, Gemma and a cat, Humphrey.
Rebecca Gallagher
Position: Veterinary nurse / receptionist
Qualifications: Cert 4 Veterinary Nurse.
Rebecca (Bec) is a native born Kiwi, who served in the NZ Army as a medic for 9 years, before moving to Australia in 2020. Her career background also includes; disability support work, adult education and training, animal rescue and she currently volunteers as a leader for a mental health organisation – Buddy Up Australia, supporting veterans and first responders.
She has recently finished her Certificate 4 in Vet Nursing and is now fully qualified. Bec is passionate about pet nutrition, animal welfare and loves meeting all of your beautiful fur babies. She enjoys reading and being outdoors in nature or on the water in her spare time. Bec has one cat named Scooter, who entertains his family with his antics and zoomies on a daily basis!
Sarah Myors
Position: Veterinary nurse/Groomer
Qualifications: Cert 4 Veterinary Nurse.
Sarah started her work placement at Cape Hawke Veterinary hospital in October of 2021 while studying her Certificate 4 in veterinary nursing. She started working as a veterinary nurse and groomer in October 2023 after graduating and becoming a fully qualified veterinary nurse. Sarah has 2 cats named Gizmo and Raven.
